7:35 PM EST. OT included. The Canucks played last night but they are 2-2 this season in the second game of back-to-backs and we highly doubt they’ll lack focus, intensity or energy once they skate onto the ice at this fabulous venue in historic Montreal. The Canucks only get to play here once a year. Aside from that, Vancouver is starting to look more legit with each passing week. This isn’t a hot streak and it’s not a player or two getting lucky. It’s a great collection of a cohesive buch with a true superstar leading the way. At this price, regardless of whether Jacob Markstrom or just called up, Thatcher Demko gets the start in net, the Canucks are very worth getting behind.

We like the Canadiens very much and have stated so many times this year but there are a few reasons to fade them here, aside from the outrageous price. First, the take-back is an overreaction to Carey Price returning to the net after missing a few games. Thing is, Price has not been sharp this season (or last) and still ranks 46th (below Petr Mrazek) in GSAA. Montreal has been off since New Year’s Eve and will return home here after a grueling six-game trip that started in Colorado, took them through Las Vegas and Arizona before landing in sunny Florida to play the Panthers and Lightning before wrapping it up in Dallas. P.K. Subban and the Nashville Predators are in on Saturday so if any team lacks desire, intensity or focus, we’re suggesting it’ll likely be the Habs and not the Canucks. Great value here.
