10:30 PM EST. Regulation only. Connor McDavid is pointless in two of his last three games, but we're willing to bet he won't take the collar tonight. You see, the Kings are a dumpster fire and there is no relief in sight. Do you know who is scoring for L.A. these days? Matt f**king Luff, an undrafted winger, who is in the last year of his contract. He's scored in three straight games, but he's not getting any help from the Kings formally big guns. Ilya Kovalchuk somehow still leads the Kings in points, but he hasn't notched a point in eight straight games. L.A. was run out of the barn by the Canucks last night as a huge favorite and that was its second loss in a row and sixth in its previous eight games. The Kings are ill-equipped to go shot-for-shot with these Oilers, who are struggling, but much closer to turning it around than the Kings are.

Edmonton took a punch to the gut on Friday night after the Ducks were able to tie the game at 1-1 with a goal that came with just 16.2 seconds left. Anaheim then followed that up with the game-winner only 14 seconds into overtime. It was the first defeat for new Oilers coach Ken Hitchcock, as his team won his first game as bench boss in San Jose the contest prior. Oilers forward Jesse Puljujarvi was called up from Bakersfield yesterday and should find his way into the lineup tonight. It might be easy to write him off as another Edmonton draft bust, but he hasn't been given much of a chance in the Alberta capital since being drafted in 2016. Don't forget, he and Patrik Laine were neck-and-neck to follow Auston Matthews that year, so it's not like the talent isn’t there. The Oilers are still a very talented team that is flying under the radar. And now find themselves in a tremendous bounce-back spot against the pathetic Kings. Nobody even looks like they want to be in a Kings uniform these days and we’re just going to keep fading them relentlessly because they really are that bad.
