8:00 PM EST. OT included. We bet the Lightning to win the series in six games (-1½ games +116), which was a wager we pretty much wrote off after Tampa lost the first two games at home. Luckily, the Bolts have reeled off three in a row to put us in a position to cash that ticket but we’re not leaving it to fate.

This wager on Washington is strictly a buy-out we’re using to get out of that wager and we’re happy to do it. It almost feels like a win after Tampa fell behind 0-2 in the series but more than that is the Capitals have been the better team throughout the series. They Caps have won the Corsi For % battle during 5v5 in all five games thus far. The Bolts are extremely lucky to still be breathing and while it’s just one game in which the goaltending will decide, we have an opportunity to get out of a bet on the team that has been badly outplayed in this series and we’re going to seize that opportunity with glee. This series is very likely going seven games simply because the second best team on the ice is not supposed to win four straight games. If you’re on the fence about this game and don’t have a series bet, the Caps come recommended.
