9:45 PM EST. OT included. One of our readers wrote in after Nashville defeated Winnipeg on Thursday and had this to say, “I love it when a plan comes together. Not only did I get my Game 3 loss back, but I also got a sweet tag on the Preds in the series. You could see it on the faces of the Jets players as they left the ice and the fans as they left the building. They have had two chances to take a stranglehold on the series and failed on both occasions. I'll say it again, the young and talented Jets are getting an education in playoff hockey from the veteran Predators and will be better for it next year. The Bridgestone will be rocking on Saturday night! Canada will have to wait another year at least to bring home Lord Stanley's mug”. End of quote.

Perception is reality, is it not? That’s probably the perception of a lot of people (bettors and fans) but that plan came together because of the knob of Pekka Rinne’s goalie stick that came up with what was perhaps the luckiest save in NHL history. Nashville may have indeed deserved to win Game 4 to tie the series up but a plan coming together? If that plan was to get outplayed and cough up the puck constantly through four games then yeah, the plan is coming together. If that plan was to get outplayed in seven of 11 playoff games thus far then yeah, that plan is really coming together. If that plan was to have Patrik Laine ring one off the post that would have made it 3-1 Winnipeg in Game 3, a game that the Preds would get badly outplayed in and eventually win in OT, than yeah, that plan is coming together beautifully. We could go over the possession numbers, like Winnipeg continually creating the better scoring chances and continually spending more time in Nashville’s end than their own. At the end of the day, this series is at worst dead even and will likely come down to which goaltender performs better. In that regard, we would take Connor Hellbucyk 100% of the time against Pekka Rinne when taking back a tag like this one or any tag for that matter. Winnipeg may not win here but they are 100% the value play. Luck plays a MASSIVE, MASSIVE role in outcomes, which is why we have to play the value and let the chips fall where they may.
