Game 2 - posted at 11:30 AM EST.

7:10 PM EST. OT included. The Jets might have been badly outshot 48-19, but it wasn't like they won, "despite the Predators dominance" as a Sportsnet headline would have you believe. Most of those shots the Jets allowed came from the outside and they created lanes so that goaltender Connor Hellebuyck could see the weak sauce that was being poured on him by Nashville. In the high danger scoring chances department, the gap was much smaller with the Jets having 10 to the Predators 12. Winnipeg was able to capitalize on those chances and chased Pekka Rinne, which was a common occurrence in the playoffs last season. The Jets continue to check off every box. Great goaltending, strong road games, a balanced attack and their top players playing at an elite level. They’re also a relaxed group that is now playing with house money.

The Preds might be gripping their sticks a little tighter tonight after Rinne's brutal showing in Game 1. For Nashville's defenseman, it might mean a shift in priorities. Sure they took a lot of shots on Friday night, but never did it feel like the Preds were in a position to tie or take the lead in the game. Ryan Ellis was not just the only D-man to finish the game with a plus rating, but he was the only Nashville skater to not finish in the negative. Three Preds defenseman had five or more shots (Mattias Ekholm, Roman Josi and P.K. Subban), but what good are those superficial offensive numbers when most of the backend is a defensive liability? Subban joked, "That’s probably the best I’ve felt after being minus-3 in a game." We're glad he's having a good time because his loose aggressive play will create more scoring chances for Winnipeg than it does his own team. At the end of the day, Rinne still cannot be trusted but the media will tell you otherwise because his stats say so. This has been called a "must-win" game and few in the market can fathom that mighty Nashville could lose two straight at home, but that flawed thinking will only get you and your bankroll in trouble. Taking back a price like this with the talent discrepancy between these two goaltenders is a must. Just like the Sharks were taking back a ridiculous price last night, the Jets are too good to be taking back prices like this against any team in any arena. Great value here.
