7:40 PM EST. Regulation only. A Devils beat reporter tweeted this morning, "No worries here. Cory Schneider is on the ice for morning skate." However, we're not going to be quite as optimistic. Schneider was the savior in Game 3, which was a contest the Devils were fortunate to win after giving up nearly 10 high danger scoring chances. We took note after Schneider was shaken up after a making a stop in that game and we have to wonder if a sore hamstring or groin could be lingering here. Schneider took the day off from practice yesterday, but even if he is 100%, the Devils could be in trouble here.

Tampa has owned the Devils under the hood, but the scoreboard does not reflect their total dominance in this series especially in Game 3. The biggest reason the Lightning were on the wrong side of that 5-2 score on Monday night was that they could not stay out of the penalty box. Tampa gave up seven powerplays which will leave a team tired and prone to making mistakes. The Lightning dominated puck possession and it's easy to forget they were actually up 2-1 in the third period of Game 3 before giving up the tying goal on a 5-on-3 Devils' power play. The final two tallies were also empty netters, which make that game much closer than it looked on paper. The Lightning have been the better team in every situation that matters and we do not suspect that will change tonight. Taking back a price with the Bolts in regulation is a must play, as it's not going to happen again in Round 1.
