7:35 PM EST. OT included. The Bruins have clinched a playoff spot, but they are reeling as the postseason rapidly approaches. Boston is coming off back-to-back losses to Philadelphia and Tampa Bay. The B's are battling with the latter for tops in the Atlantic Division with each side racking up 110 points so far. However, the Bruins have one game in hand. Boston finishes the year with two games against the Panthers and one versus Ottawa, while Tampa plays Buffalo and Carolina. Despite the less than stellar results the last two games, Boston is favored in this spot after pasting the Panthers 5-1 last Saturday afternoon.

The Cats clung to their playoff lives with a huge 2-1 win over league-leading Nashville last time out. That W didn't come without controversy, as the Preds were denied the tying goal on a questionable goaltender interference call. Regardless, the win still counts and the Panthers got two more points. The Cats now sit four points back of the Flyers with three games to play. Florida's chance to make the playoffs is just 13.5% according http://hockey-reference.com , but that's more than enough to make the Panthers desperate and dangerous. Florida has had an incredible second half and at one point were the hottest team in the league. They have an impressive 25-11-1 home record, which includes three straight Ws. Since February 22nd, the Panthers have defeated Washington, Pittsburgh, Toronto, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Boston and Nashville at the BT&T Center. All of those teams are either in or fighting for a playoff spot. Florida was -101 in that last home game with the Bruins on March 15th and now it is taking back a price after getting whacked in Beantown. That is not right, as the Cats are too good to be a pooch in their own barn against a team that might not care as much.
