The Islanders are not going down without a fight against a team trying to clinch a playoff spot on the road. Few things motivate a team not going to the playoffs more than a team trying to clinch in the underdog’s crib.

The Flyers are riding an eight-game point streak that has them one win and a Panthers loss away from being back in the playoffs. Philly's standing in the market is sure to be inflated in this game, as these two teams are headed in opposite directions to end the year. Recent results have also heavily favored the Flyers with two straight wins including a 6-4 decision back in January. That night the Flyers were -140 at home and tonight they are spotting a much bigger price at the Barclays Center. That’s inflation. The last time the Flyers were asked to spot a price like this on the road was against the Red Wings two weeks ago. That game resulted in a 5-4 shootout win for the home team. Laying this much lumber with any of the Flyers goaltenders is a dangerous game. Sure, Philly can score five or six, but just as many or more could go against them on any night of the week. The Flyers were fortunate to get the W after being outshot and out-chanced by the Bruins on Sunday afternoon. The closer they get to the finish line, the harder it's going to be to clinch that postseason birth. The Islanders will be motivated to try and bring Philly down do their level and at this price, we'll pay to find out if they can.
