Let’s start with the Cardinals, who were waffled by Patrick Mahomes and the mighty Chiefs. The battered and bruised Arizona defense was torched for five touchdowns and 360 yards by Mahomes and never had a chance to cover the now modest looking 6-point spread. We’re not going to try and make a case for the Cards based on last week’s results, as that would be impossible. It’s very hard to back a Kliff Kingsbury-coached team. The guy is an idiot. Every awful thing being said about Arizona this week looks even worse in light of the Chiefs struggling in front of the football world on TNF.

The Raiders meanwhile hung around with the Chargers, who overcame just about every obstacle one could face on Thursday in a single game to salvage a cover. However, L.A. deserved a better fate against the Chiefs but we also know the Chargers are a cursed franchise. Those ghosts have made their way up from San Diego in case there was still any doubt.

Before Thursday Night Football, the Cardinals were already a market tagged with the line increasing a couple of points from its open to the number you see now. One of the things we always preach is to never play a bad number. If one liked the Raiders, and thought there was value in them, that ship has sailed. Now not only did the Cards get clobbered, they were clobbered by a Chiefs team that needed every break, bounce and call they could get just to get the win on Thursday, Meanwhile, the Raiders looked good against a Chargers side that should have won going away on Thursday. That situation presents the opprtunity to take back inflated points, which is always something that we're on the lookout for.
