With that said, the Ravens are the hottest team in football. Lamar Jackson is the leading MVP candidate at the mid-way point of the season. Dude led the Ravens to another fourth-quarter comeback (his fourth of the season) against the Vikings last Sunday, but that is a situation the Ravens have been in far too much in 2021. When you play with fire, you usually get burned.

If Baltimore’s stock is up, where do we find these Dolphins? Stuck to the scum at the bottom of the fish tank? It wouldn’t be far off. At 2-7, the Fins are dead in the water. With that in mind, we have to wonder why, in a league where double-digit spreads are tossed around like candy, Miami would not be in such a position this week. If the Bills are -12 at the Jets, should the Ravens not be getting similar respect from the oddsmakers?

The seemingly short number here is a big red flag, as we’d argue vehemently that the books could have made the Ravens double-digit chalk and not swayed a bet. Miami hasn’t even named a starting quarterback. Be mindful of picking low-hanging fruit when oddsmakers offer it. That juice often isn’t worth the squeeze.
