KANSAS CITY -10½ over N.Y. Giants

8:20 PM EST. The Chiefs are 3-4, they appear to be regressing badly and they have not been covering for extended period of time dating back to last year. We would argue that this number would be much more in the range of, say, the Rams and Texans (-16½) if the Chiefs were performing up to snuff nut they're not. Meanwhile, the Giants are literally coming off their most convincing win of the season in a 25-3 drubbing of the Panthers. We're not going to suggest that the G-Men are satisfied after that home win last week, but we are going to suggest that New York is ill-equipped here to go shot-for-shot with Patrick Mahomes and company.

These Monday night games are a big deal to the host city, the team, and its players. It's a showcase. While the rest of the league sits back after a hard-fought Sunday, the Chiefs are in a position to put the rest of the league on notice. Despite their meager results thus far, or perhaps because of them, this game means a hell of a lot to a team that went to back-to-back Super Bowls.

The Chiefs may be turning the ball over at an outrageous clip, but do you know who else likes to give the ball away without much effort? Daniel Jones. Jones and the Giants are coming off their best game of the season while the Chiefs are coming off their worst game in the Andy Reid era, a 27-3 home loss to the Titans. That score is bad but it was turnover induced. When you lose the turnover battle 3-0, you are supposed to lose by double-digits. We have long stated that turnovers are a luck-based statistic, and over time, those bounces usually even out. That's not to say that will happen tonight, but if it does, it's going to be a long night for the Giants. Even if it doesn't, the G-Men are capable of keeping up in that dubious department.

After getting pasted by Tennessee last week, Kansas City was roasted over the coals the by every media outlet that covers the NFL. You likely heard a million different things about what's wrong with the Chiefs. It's been a long time since criticism was so high on its coach, QB and players. Some of these genuises have even suggested that the league has figured out Patrick Mahomes. The defense is taking it on the chin for its inabilty to stop anyone or anything. Media influence looms large here, as the Chiefs have less credibility than 8 to 10 teams right now. That provides us with this opportunity to get the Chiefs at a bargain with their leader, Patrick Mahomes in a very foul mood. Dude is still a great QB. Dude may have been so bored that he lost focus for a few weeks, much like a high school kid that should be in university. It's rare that we get the Chiefs at a deflated price against a dreg and with all the negative press surrounding them, we're suggesting the Chiefs will put that all to rest after tonight.
