Las Vegas +210 over PITTSBURGH

1:00 PM EST. The Steelers did some damage in survivor pools in Week 1 and they likely caused some heartbreak in the market as well after staging the biggest upset of the day in a 23-16 win at AFC Championship finalist Buffalo. It was a big win for the Steelers, who are always one of the most popular teams in this league. When a club like Pittsburgh has a positive result, there is often a big overreaction.

As nice as it is to start the year with a big win on the road, if you had eyes on that game, you know that the Steelers did not pass that critical eye test. Set the final score aside for a second and it doesn’t take long to see that the Bills were much the better side. Buffalo had more first downs, more rush yards, more passing yards, the better return game, it won the time of possession and it had more sacks. However, the Bills took eight penalties for 81 yards and fumbled the ball four times. While the Steelers could only jump on one, when you shoot yourself in the foot like that, it’s bound to come back and bite where the sun don’t shine. The Steelers did not cross the 50-yard line and move into Buffalo’s territory until about halfway through the third quarter. That’s hard to do.

The Raiders played one of the craziest Monday Night Football games you will ever see. We can’t do the end of that game justice, so if you didn’t see it, do yourself a favor and seek it out on the NFL’s YouTube page (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSVEE0JIbRs). While entertaining as hell, outside of fantasy circles, we’re not so sure that Las Vegas did much to raise its stock in the market. This line certainly suggests that, as this appears to be a big overreaction to Week 1 results.

How can the Steelers go from being a +6½ point choice last week in Buffalo to the number we see today? That’s a double-digit swing that quite frankly, this Pittsburgh team does not come close to deserving. The offensive line is greener than goose shit and it is only a matter of time before they get Ben Roethlisberger killed. As for blocking for rookie runner Najee Harris? Good luck. Dude tried to make the magic happen out there on Sunday and it was not happening. Harris picked up just 45 yards on 16 carries and missed both his targets in the passing game. Again, not all his fault, but when your offensive line resembles a JUCO team, it’s going to be a long season.

Pick sellers and publications across the continent will try to convince you of a few “angles” here. First, you’ll read that after such an emotional win on Monday Night to officially open its new home, Vegas is in a big letdown spot. Secondly, you’ll read about the West Coast team flying to the East Coast for an early start angle. Combine those two and it has created an inflated price on a team that cannot be favored in this range. That said, we don't even want the points. Sin City straight up.
