DENVER +130 over Las Vegas

4:25 PM EST. The Raiders were eliminated from playoff contention in Week 16 loss to the Dolphins and there is a perception that if not for a few stumbles, this would be a playoff team. That might be true, but those missteps are a reason why the Raiders are not worthy of the postseason. Contenders do not go on the road and lose to the four win Falcons by 37. Nor do they lose three straight home games and five of their last six games overall just as soon as their hype train gained steam after a 6-3 start to the season. It's another disappointing end, with that 26-25 loss last week to Miami being particularly bitter, as the Raiders had a chance to really put the pressure on the Fish, but a boneheaded call from head coach Jon Gruden practically sealed Las Vegas' fate, as he allowed Miami plenty of time (stuck just two points) to march down the field to kick a game winning field goal, which they did. After a loss like that, with everything on the line, how do the Raiders bounce back for a nothing game on the road in Denver?

The Broncos are such a great value play here. Not only is Denver priced at the dog friendly number of +2½, but they also catch the Raiders in the ultimate letdown spot. Denver has long been a tough place to play. In the best of times, the Raiders are not a team you want to be spotting road points with. Now after being in playoff contention for 16 weeks and losing an absolute heartbreaker, we have to question their mindset this week.

Although the Broncos were blown out in their last two home games, those were against playoff bound clubs in Buffalo and New Orleans. In that Saints game, you may remember, Denver was unable to dress a proper quarterback and sent a practice squad wide receiver to be eaten alive by the Saints D. Prior to that, Denver beat the Dolphins outright and the Chargers too. What, this team can't beat the Raiders. Broncos should be favored here.
