L.A. RAMS +3½ -115 over Baltimore

8:20 PM EST. Monday Night Football. The 8-2 Ravens are on a league-leading six-game winning streak and became "the team to beat" with a 4-1 record on the road. The 6-4 Rams are only 3-2 at home and struggle to score whenever facing an above-average defense. The Rams may have been great last year, but they're not great this year. That honour goes to the Ravens, who started the year with a 50-point win over Miami, became the first team to beat New England and for an encore, the Ravens beat Houston the last time we saw them by a score of 41-7. Baltimore has won four in a row by double digits. They have won their last two by a combined 70 points. They have passed everyone and their stock is still rising. The last time we saw the Rams was in prime time game against the Bears. Even though the Rams won and covered, they scored 17 points but were stuck on 10 until the final moments and they looked putrid.

This line opened at -3 and we seriously suggest you think about that before pulling the trigger on the Ravens. Considering what has transpired this past month, do you think for one moment that the linesmaker doesn't know from which direction the money will come? The line is created to attract equal action on both sides. Do you think that there will be even money bet on both sides knowing what we know about how these teams have played recently? The “man in the street” looks at that line of Ravens' -3 and thinks jackpot. If you owned a sportsbook and you were setting the lines, would you be ok with a Ravens' -3 against a Rams' team that can’t get out of its own way? If we owned a sportsbook and wanted to create “equal action” we’d have made the Ravens -6, -6½ or maybe even -7 but no way in hell would we have made it -3 and neither would anyone reading this. The oddsmakers have clearly taken a position on this game and as hard as it is to take the Rams, it is the only way to approach this one. The Rams stock is through the roof and the books have taken a position. If you bet Ravens, which every 9 out of 10 people will, you may win but when it loses, don’t say you weren’t warned. Make this wager as close to game time as possible, as we may even get +4½ by game time. If you want Ravens, bet it ASAP so that you can beat the closing line.
