WASHINGTON +173 over Detroit

1:00 PM EST. If you backed the Redskins as we did last week, there is going to be very little appetite to come back to the bullshit buffet that this team has become. From top to bottom, the 'Skins are a mess. The fans in the stands last Sunday shouted "Sell the team," at owner Dan Snyder while their beloved Redskins were getting shellacked 34-17 by the Jets. Washington is just 1-9 and honestly, when we saw this line, we wanted to bet the house on the Lions and we suspect we are not the only ones.

This game comes down to one question. Do you want to spot road points with Jeff Driskel? That Driskel hasn't been dreadful, despite going 0-2 since taking over for the injured Matthew Stafford in Week 10, is the best case that can be made for him is a pretty good reason as to why the Lions cannot be backed in this situation. Mindset plays a significant role in outcomes and after single score losses to both the Bears and Cowboys, the Lions season is essentially over. They are 3-6-1 and are not going to make the cut in a loaded NFC where there are nine clubs that are .500 or better. The NFC is also top heavy with four squads sporting eight wins or more through 11 weeks of the season, two of which are in the Lions division (Packers, Vikings). To recap, the Lions are coming off a tough division defeat to Chicago and then a home loss to the Cowboys to ruin its playoff aspirations. Next week, Detroit is in its traditional kickoff slot on Thanksgiving Thursday in a rematch with the Bears, which is just four days after this one kicks off. Ask yourself, is Detroit going to care about a meaningless game in Washington or will their focus be on taking down the Bears on Thanksgiving Thursday? In terms of horrible situational spots, it doesn’t get worse for the Lions.
