Atlanta +13½ -110 over NEW ORLEANS

1:00 PM EST. This season has not been kind to the Falcons, but this line has to be the ultimate slap in the face. It would be one thing if journeyman Matt Schaub were the quarterback that will be taking the snaps, but he is not. No, Matt Ryan is expected to make his return to the lineup after missing the Dirty Birds last game against the Seahawks, which resulted in a 27-20 defeat. We've been down on Atlanta all season and even wrote them up before the season to finish under their season win total of 8½. At 1-7, the Falcons are no doubt playing out the string, but there will be times when this team will step up to the plate. Atlanta has the weapons on offense to make life difficult for anybody holding a ticket against them. The Falcons still carry some big play potential, which means they are always capable of sneaking in the back door, even if they have a poor start, just as they did against Seattle.

The Saints are the hottest team in the NFC after ripping off six wins in a row, five of those with Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback. At 7-1, the only blemish on New Orleans' record is the game they lost their star pivot against the Rams in Week 2. The Saints whacked the Cardinals 31-9 in Drew Brees’ anticipated return before heading into their bye last week. Brees looked like he missed five minutes and not five weeks. The Saints are now the NFC front runners to make the Super Bowl and their stock is trading at a season high. Further inflating the Saints price this week is the return of star runner Alvin Kamara, but does it really matter who lines up in the backfield? Perhaps the Saints continue to roll and blow the Falcons out of the water, but we can never recommend spotting inflated points and you can double that in these heated divisional rivalry games. If the Saints win going away, so be it but if you bet the Saints and lose, you probably deserve it for spotting more points than you should be. It has to be Falcons or nothing.
