TAMPA BAY -5½ -109 over Arizona

1:00 PM EST. If you were to just look at the box scores last Sunday, you might think that both the Cardinals and Buccaneers were coming off hard fought losses to a pair of quality teams. However, a closer look shows that couldn't be further from the truth, as it was only the Bucs that competed until the bitter end in their 40-34 loss in overtime against the Seahawks. Seattle is still a very tough place to play, Tampa Bay did not look out of place against the 7-2 Seahawks and perhaps if they could have made a stop on the final drive of regulation or won the coin toss, the results of that contest could have been much different. Tampa Bay is now just 2-6, which might make them an unappealing bet spotting a price like this against a Cardinals side that appeared to give the unbeaten 49ers a run for their money in the desert.

Arizona dropped a 28-25 decision to San Francisco on Thursday Night Football in Week 9, but that result very much flatters the host Red Birds. The 49ers had multiple double digit leads in that game including one late as the fourth quarter, but an 88-yard touchdown pass from Kyler Murray to Andy Isabella with less than five minutes remaining would artificially narrow the gap to a field goal. The Cards would not sniff the ball again. Arizona spots a 3-5-1 record in the standings, but at the window, where it matters most, it is 6-3 against the spread, while the Bucs are just 2-6. At this point in the season, you'll see scumbag pick sellers point to ATS records as justification for backing one team over another, but just as there are "good" losses, there are "bad" covers. A dirty backdoor cover cashes a ticket just the same, but it can also inflate a team's appeal the next time out. We believe that is the case here with the Red Birds. The Bucs have had some bad luck, but when "good" Jameis Winston shows up, they are capable of putting up points in bunches, which makes them a massive threat to cover this modest number. The Cardinals defense is soft and weak and ready to be exposed in a big way.

Tampa Team total over is another strong bet that we would endorse making if you're so inclined.
