NFL 2019

Week 6

What you see below is our early leans. Many of the selections below will stay the same and some will be moved into official plays with wagers on Sunday. However, there is also the possibility that we see, read or get a sense that something is not right with one of our selections and change our pick. There are several different criterion we use to grade a game and make it an official play and a lot of things can happen or change between Friday and Sunday.

We’re intent on providing our readers with the best possible selections and doing so on Sunday instead of Friday just makes more sense. We made that change last year and ended up going 81-57. Again, we’ll have all write-ups (except Monday Night Football) posted on Friday but our actual wagers won’t be posted until Sunday morning between 10 AM and 12:00 PM EST.

Week 6

N.Y. Giants +17 over NEW ENGLAND

17 is a humiliating number to the Giants but this is a game we don’t want to get involved in. The Giants have thrown in the white flag for this game with the following listed as out - Saquon Barkley (ankle), Evan Engram (knee), Wayne Gallman (concussion), and Sterling Shepard (concussion). The boost from starting Daniel Jones is over and playing the Patriots on a short week in their stadium doesn't make for a turnaround. There is speculation that the Giants may be shopping Eli Manning around before the Week 8 trade deadline and it would make sense to get something, however cheap his cost has become. There are a few more soft spots in the schedule, but their current 2-3 record may be as good as it gets.

The Patriots are banged up too and they’re also on a short week with 11 days off after this one so for them to come out flat would be of no surprise. The Week 4 scare when they only beat the Bills by six points was erased when the Pats rolled up a 26-point win over the Redskins and got their coach fired. With the next two weeks facing the Giants and Jets, the Pats can turn on the cruise control at least until Week 8 when the Browns show up. There will be spots to bet against the Pats but this isn’t one of them because the Giants look like such a mess. New England is spotting inflated points here but that doesn’t mean they can’t win 24-3 or something like that. In other words, not every game has to be bet and this is one where we cannot and will not recommend spotting inflated points, nor do we have any interest in getting behind the G-Men in their current state. Hold a gun to our head and we’re taking the inflated points but we’re going to have to sit this one out.

The rest of Week 6 games will be psted on Friday.
