1:00 PM EST. If you took a look at this number and had to give your head a shake, you're not alone. Spotting a price this big with the 1-5 Colts is not going to be an easy bet to make, but maybe that's the point. The books are not in the habit of giving away money and when they open with a number like -7½ on a poor favorite, as they did in this one, it could generate one-sided action and even more so when you consider that enticing hook on a key number. In this case, Bills backers have responded in spades, as this game has now come off that enticing price, which has us taking a long look at Indianapolis here.

On paper, it looks bad for the Colts, as 1-5 squads are not usually in the thick of things or even favored by a converted TD but in the AFC South, anything is possible because the other three teams in that division are all 3-3. The Colts have a significant advantage over the Jaguars, Titans and Texans because they have by far the divisions best quarterback. Andrew Luck is not only back, but he is putting up big numbers despite being surrounded by a bunch of players that would be playing in the XFL if it still existed. Luck has been on a tear as of late with at least 300 yards passing and three touchdowns in three straight games. He looks to join some elite company with Steve Young and Peyton Manning being the only pivots to post those stats over a four-game span. Through six games, Luck leads the league in completions with 186 and is second in passing touchdowns with 16. Indy is bringing a bazooka to this gunfight, while the Bills are throwing stones.

Last week, Buffalo took home a moral victory of sorts after pushing the Texans to the brink as a double-digit dog, but if you were invested in that game in any way, you likely know that the Bills deserved a better fate. Buffalo had the lead late in the fourth quarter and all they had to do was gain a couple of first downs to seal the deal. You know what happened next, as the human interception machine, Nathan Peterman, gifted the Texans the win with a pick-six. The Bills deserved a much better result and the market knows it, which is why Buffalo is getting so much love this week, as it appears they are taking a big step down in competition. However, they are not and this trip to Indianapolis couldn't have come at a worse time.

You see, the Bills will host the New England Patriots next week on Monday Night Football. For the city, its fans and the Bills players, that is the biggest game on the schedule this season. That prime-time clash will be the first time in a decade that the Bills will be hosting MNF. This Week 7 clash with the Colts is the definition of a "lookahead" spot. Combine that with the heartbreaking loss Buffalo suffered last week in Houston and the likelihood of a misstep here increases substantially. Indy is in prime position for a big win, as the Bills chalkboard will likely have more Patriots on it than Colts. We should also mention that the the Bills signed Derek Anderson and the 35-year-old journeyman gets this start. Does it matter? We think not after Peterman made yet another cameo. The Bills slayed one demon just to invite an even larger one to the kitchen table. That is SO Buffalo.
