7:00 PM EST. This play has less to do with the Lions then it does with their opposition tonight, however, this offseason has not been all sunshine and rainbows. Detroit hired a new head coach with former Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia coming over from camp Belichick, but early reports from mini camp were not favorable. Patricia's apparent penchant for literally running his players hard like it's fifth period PE did not sit well with rookie running back Kerryon Johnson, who said, "These are true professionals. These are grown men, 30, 35, 25." At this level that kind of crap makes you look like a total amateur. So, too, does getting called out by a rookie, but Johnson was spot on. It seems to be the same old story for the Lions, who have some talented players, but a moron for a head coach.

While it may have just been Week 1 of the preseason, the Giants were embarrassed on their home turf against a Browns’ side that hadn't won a game of any kind for nearly a calendar year, as their last W came in their last exhibition game in August of 2017. The Giants were a disaster last season and they are starting fresh with a new coaching staff. There is no way Pat Shurmur wants to go 0-2 here. The G-Men are already fighting for back page headlines in New York with the upstart Jets, who already have a media darling in rookie quarterback Sam Darnold. The Giants might not be as sexy as the Jets at the moment, but that's ok because they are an undervalued squad, whose stock is low after last week. That game against the Browns was the featured contest on NFL Network and was aired live so more eyeballs were on that game last Thursday night than any other, as most preseason games only air live in their local markets and then are replayed on NFLN. The point is, the Giants stunk, the football world saw it and we're coming back for more.
