3:30 PM EST. FAU has won and covered in two straight. First, on October 29th, when UAB was a road favorite coming in off a tough loss. FAU was taking back 5½-points and covered easily in a straight up win over the Blazers, 24-17. The Owls of FAU would then have a week off before heading out to face their arch rival, Florida International. The Owls were an unfamiliar 15½-point road choice and ended up annihilating FIU, 52-7. As a result of those two easy wins and covers, FAU’s stock is trending up and it is at its highest point this year. It is the first time all year that the Owls have covered in back-to-back games. Thus, if you bet them this week, you may win but you would be buying them at precisely the wrong time. Sell high. Always.

MTSU enters into the game 5-5 on the year, a win here secures bowl eligibility. We’re pointing that out, not because it is a “must-win” game (that’s an angle we prefer to fade) but because it outlines MTSU’s motivation level. We should also point out that Murfreesboro is the ideal venue to knock off FAU, as the Blue Raiders are a mid-major program with a mysterious home field advantage that has baffled many. Aside from that, this is strictly a number wager and a position we like to target, where a team conflates their market presence with a couple of impressive showings and the market overreacts accordingly, allowing us to take advantage and move in. Forget the points, Middle Tennessee outright it is.
