Oregon St -7 -108 over Utah St

SoFi Stadium – Inglewood, CA

Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl Presented by Stife

7:30 PM EST. As a 6½-point pooch last week, Utah St absolutely torched a ranked San Diego State squad on Championship Saturday. The Aggies are now taking back even more points on a number that crosses over a key number like 7. That hook is just enough bait to get the market to bite. Incidentally, Vegas reported that San Diego State was hammered last week so once again, the efficient market took it on the chin. You think they’re fading Utah State again? Uh uh my friends.

First off, that win last week by Utah State makes this one somewhat anti-climactic. Furthermore, Oregon comes from a much tougher conference, thugs, played a much tougher schedule than Utah State. Outside of SDSU, who we pegged as frauds prior to its loss to Utah State, the Aggies didn’t beat anyone of significance the entire year. They played BYU and lost by 14. They played Boise St and lost by 24. They played Wyoming and lost by 27, so, yeah, they have the great ability to lose by a crooked number.

Utah State’s defense was on the field more than most teams in the entire country, which suggests their offense is an all or nothing unit. They do not sustain long drives, as it is a quick strike offense that also goes three and out often. Oregon State is bigger, they’re better, they’re so much more battle tested. Perhaps most importantly is that the market is putting way too much weight on Utah State’s win over a compromised San Diego State in the Mountain West Championship game. Oregon State was -7½ all week and only dropped today to the bargain price you see here. Attack!
