8:00 PM EST. Before we start, let us just say that we cannot stand P.J. Fleck and whatever culture he’s trying to develop over there (cult is short for culture) but his players have been brainwashed like Scientologists around the globe so they are buying what this freak is selling. We have to set aside our biases no matter what and focus in on value and in that regard, the Hoosiers are favored here because why?

Indiana’s name came up on the bottom of your TV screen constantly last week, as an “upset alert” was flashing across your screen for almost the entire second half in Indiana’s close call at Happy Valley last week. The Hoosiers would end up losing that game to Penn State at State College but man, did they ever come close in a 33-28 loss as 14-point underdog. While that was going on, the Golden Gophers were getting their asses handed to them by the previously winless Cornhuskers, 53-28. Minnesota was a four-point dog in Nebraska and now they’re close to being the same price at home to the Hoosiers? That’s not right and we have to try and take advantage.

Penn State got caught sleepwalking a bit, which happens to many teams that are big home favorites but let us remind you that the Hoosiers got pasted by Iowa, Ohio State and Michigan State prior. While those are three very difficult programs, one has to consider the toll playing Iowa, OSU and PSU in succession has taken on these Hoosiers. They will now travel again on a short week to play a lesser team after a massive effort last week. The chances of the Hoosiers coming up flat here are great and we need not look further than these Gophers for an example of how a big underdog reacts after strong efforts.

As a 29-point underdog to Ohio State two weeks ago, the Gophers hung around almost three full quarters. In the end, they only surrendered 30 points to a 29-point favorite and lost 30-16. The very next week (last week), the Gophers got blasted in that aforementioned game in Lincoln. These two teams have had two common opponents this year in Ohio State and Iowa. Minnesota lost 30-16 to OSU and 48-31 to Iowa while Indiana lost 49-26 to OSU and 42-16 to Iowa. Clearly, Minnesota had the better showing against both and both teams also had one home game and one road game.

The number has finally caught up with P.J and we'll credit his team with enough pride to bounce back and make a better showing this week in front of the home crowd in what has to feel to the Gophers’ players and coaches like their most winnable game in more than a month. Wrong side favored.
