Oregon +10 -110 over UCLA

9:30 PM EST. Late window of games has the third ranked team in the country playing an Oregon team that fell off the map very quickly. Before we discuss the Ducks, the suggestion here is that the Bruins rate a sell high commodity just on the basis of their lofty ranking. When UCLA took the court one week ago, it was three weeks since its last game. Even before the pause there were suggestions the Bruins were vulnerable. Their overtime win at home against Villanova on Nov. 12 has lost a little luster given the way the Wildcats have played since then, and the Bruins got blown out by a Gonzaga squad that subsequently lost to Duke and Alabama. While the Bruins are a dangerous team, Oregon is the forgotten team but we urge you to not count Dana Altman out, ever, as his team always seems to get progressively better.

Oregon’s stunning 81-49 loss to BYU very early in the season followed by another head scratching, 39-point loss to Houston is still resonating on the West Coast. The market in that region can’t seem to shake off those two losses nor can they shake off Oregon’s pedestrian 9-6 record (2-2 in the conference). We can easily shake it off because results are very misleading.

The Ducks just lost to #1 Baylor by 8. Their two losses before that were a 2-point OT loss to Arizona State and a three-point loss to Stanford. It took some time for the Ducks to learn some lessons but it’s starting to pay off. We could easily be discussing a Ducks’ squad on a nine-game winning streak had the aforementioned three losses been victories. The Ducks were in a position to win all three but ended up losing all three. We’re the beneficiaries of the market paying so much attention to wins and losses above everything, as the Oregon Ducks are too good to be getting 10 points from anyone in the PAC-12. Big-time overlay here.
