Colgate +8½ over N.C. STATE

2:00 PM EST. This is not a fade on N.C. State but more a play on a Patriot League team taking back what many will perceive as not enough points against a reputable ACC squad. We’d argue that Colgate will be one of the top mid-majors in the country.

Jordan Burns, last year’s Patriot League Player of the Year is gone, but nearly everyone else is back. Furthermore, Colgate didn’t suffer offensively when Burns sat last season. Per Hoop-Explorer and HoopLens, the Raiders’ offensive efficiency was essentially identical when their superstar was on and off the floor. Colgate is a well-oiled machine that can absolutely compete here against any “second-tier” power-6 team from any Power-6 conference in the country.
