Gardner Webb -105 over CAMPBELL

7:00 PM EST. The Big South Tournament tips off and so it’s all hands on deck. Campbell earned the right to host this one, as they finished ahead of Gardner Webb in the standings and that’s all the market needs to see to make a decision on a small favorite. Let it be known that although Campbell has the better record, they are not the better team. 

The story of the Big South this season was Winthrop. Pat Kelsey’s squad completely dominated the league from start to finish and there is not much else to be said. However, Gardner-Webb finished second in the league in KenPom’s rankings and have the talent to make a Cinderella run in the tournament as an under-seeded 6-seed. Led by another super-frosh in D’Maurian Williams and an All-League senior in Jaheam Cornwall, the Runnin’ Bulldogs are playing their best basketball of the season right now and we can assure you that Winthrop is hoping that Campbell beats them here so that it won’t have to deal with them. The Bulldogs played Winthrop twice this year and although they lost both games, Gardner Webb was in striking distance both games and even led by six at the half in the first game before eventually losing by just eight. The Bulldogs are without question underseeded and underpriced. Fire away.
