Presbyterian +8 over HIGH POINT

6:00 PM EST. Great value here on the underdog. These two met yesterday at this same venus with High Point closing as a 5-point favorite. The Panthers (High Point) would go on to whack the Blue Hose (Presbyterian) by 34 points, thus, the price today comes in as an inflated one based on yesterday’s results. High Point and Presbyterian are playing on an even field, as they are both weak teams in the Big South and neither deserve to be this big a favorite over the other. The Panthers have already lost to both Longwood and South Carolina Upstate, two other Big South basement dwellers and as it turns out, they just had a hot day from the field yesterday while the dog could not hit anything.

The Blue Hose were in dire straits before the NCAA’s ruling, as they opened the season with just seven bodies against Jacksonville on December 2 and lost Michael Isler and Sean Jenkins to the transfer portal shortly after. Fortunately, Trevor Reddish and Brandon Younger were waiting in the wings, and both have started all nine games which they’ve been available for.  Reddish in particular has been vital, as the burly wing averaged 18 PPG in a split against Radford to open league play. Combine that with some promising youngsters in Rayshon Harrison, Owen McCormack, and Ambaka Le Gregam, and the Blue Hose could be much more competitive in the Big South than anticipated. Right now, the Blue Hose have one conference win in seven games, which looks horrible on paper when combined with yesterday’s 34-point loss. We’re calling the upset here but at the very least, we’re getting far more points than we should be.
