UTAH ST -8 over Colorado St

9:00 PM EST Colorado State is a 10-2 team taking back eight points and we’re going to suggest that those eight points are not enough. 10-2 looks very pretty on paper but CSU is coming off back to back blowout wins over San Jose St, who is without question one of, if not the worst Division I team in the country. SJSU is worse than some D-2 teams. However, the market sees a 10-2 record, back-to-back wins of 33 and 27 points respectively, not to mention, back-to-back covers and five covers in its last seven games. What is being overlooked is the competition that the Rams have beaten, which include SJSU twice, UNLV twice and Fresno State twice. The Rams also beat Northern Colorado, Colorado State San Pueblo and Santa Clara. This is a weak resume but when the Rams played St. Mary’s, they scored 33 points and lost 53-33. A group of college kids that are coming off two blowout wins versus a massive dreg like SJSU can develop some very bad habits. The Rams will now play the best team in the conference and they’re getting too much credit.

Utah State has played the 91st ranked Strength of Schedule (SOS) in the land. The Aggies non-conference schedule included games against BYU, VCU and Northern Iowa and they just beat San Diego State in back-to-back games. The Aggies are a team with so much frontcourt talent and depth. They have cleaned the class on both ends while their boss, Craig Smith is one of the sharpest minds in coaching. We understand that the points look appetizing but that’s what attracted us to this game. A deeper looks says that the Rams are going to pay a price for playing against such weak competition and the price gets paid against this conference juggernaut.
