Indiana State +14 -103 over SAINT LOUIS

Chaifetz Arena - St. Louis, MO

8:00 PM EST. The Billikens are 4-0, but outside of a date with LSU, they have played the dregs of Division I. Sure, St. Louis is also perfect 4-0 against the spread, but it smashed SIU Edwardsville (89-50), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (107-54) and Central Arkansas (88-65) in addition to their 85-81 edging of the Tigers. Saint Louis has become a mid-major powerhouse over the years and was pegged to finish second in the Atlantic-10 in the coaches poll. Its pedigree combined with paying out like a broken slot machine with seven straight covers going back to last season will likely have you paying a premium to back the Billies here. However, the Sycamores of Indiana State are no SIUE, ARPB or CARK

Indiana State may have lost three key contributors from last season, but it has restocked the cupboards with some quality transfers. The Sycamores are coming off their first .500 season since 2015. This has been called an “all or nothing” year for head coach Greg Lansing, who is in the final year of his deal. Lansing was able to shed some light on his situation, “If they had the money, they would have bought me out three years ago.” Despite the lack of respect from his new AD, Lansing has given himself the opportunity to earn an extension with this roster.

They’ve got a top scorer they can lean on in key returnee Tyreke Key. They’ve got two big men in Tre Williams and Jake LaRavia. Redshirt junior Cooper Neese and Key have led their team early, with Key averaging double digit scoring through two games (11 points per game) and Neese on top at 16 PPG. The Sycamores are 1-1, but their loss came against Purdue. While they lost by 12, Indiana State was able to go shot for shot with the Boilermakers in the second half, which should serve them well. In a win or go home season, Lansing and the Sycamores are going to be a tough out most nights and with a real game under their belt now, they are in a great position to come in under the number here.
