Northeastern -1 -105 over DELAWARE

7:00 PM EST. When you've looked at as many games as we have over the years, often there are lines and situations that raise a red flag. Georgia was a great example of that last night. That line screamed that the Bulldogs were supposed to win that game over #12 Auburn and while it doesn't always work out the way it's supposed to, last night it did. Today, we have another game where the sum of its parts does not add up.

First up are the Fightin' Blue Hens of Delaware, who are 19-8 overall and 9-5 in Colonial Athletic Association play. To further their curb appeal, the Blue Hens are 9-2 at home and they've won seven out of eight games, yet they are a pooch at home to a .500 school. How can this be?

If you are a frequent reader of this space, you know that the Huskies of Northeastern have made multiple appearances this season. At 13-13, this has no doubt been a disappointing year for legendary coach Bill Coen and his team, as many had picked the Huskies to contend with Charleston for tops in the Colonial. However, those preseason predictions have not worked out for either side, as they both sit in the middle of the CAA table. Northeastern is a veteran team that is led by a quartet of seniors in Jordan Roland, Bolden Brace, Tyson Walker and Maxime Boursiquot, who have been responsible for over 70% (72) of the Huskies offense this season. Over the last five games, those four have poured in 98% of the buckets scored. Northeastern is just 7-7 in the conference and it has already dropped a game at home to the Blue Hens this season. That 76-74 decision is going to look bad on paper, as the Huskies were a -7½ point favorite that night, but less than a month later, we are getting a discount in this rivalry. From time to time, the oddsmakers will “take a position” in a game and it is our job to recognize those spots. This is one of them.
