7:00 PM EST. This one is right in our wheelhouse. First, you have the Auburn Tigers, a team that is second in the conference behind Kentucky with a 9-3 conference mark. The Tigers are also 22-3 overall. Now the second place team is playing the team in second last. Georgia is 2-10 in the conference and 12-13 overall. Some other examples of second place teams playing teams in second last show point spreads in the 9½ to 10 point range and not 4. Memphis for instance is -13 over second last place East Carolina. Western Carolina is -9 over second last place VMI. 4th place SMU is -8 at last place Tulane. Why then is the #13th ranked team in the country such a small price over a 2-10 Georgia squad?

This is not some hidden second tier conference game. This is an ESPN2 game that is going to stick out like crazy to the man on the street that thinks the sportsbooks are giving away money. If you bet Auburn, you may win but it has sucker written all over it. Oddsmakers have taken a position here.

We could tell you all about Georgia and its 6-5 freshman Anthony Edwards, who will be a top-three pick in the NBA Draft but it’s not relevant. The market will see a 13th ranked team spotting a porkchop against a 2-10 conference team that might not even make it to the NIT. There is nothing more to say about this game, as the unsuspecting will be bringing the hammer down on the Tigers. We recognize something that has a foul odor to it and will take a position on the same side as the books.
