Davidson +4 -107 over ST. BONAVENTURE

7:00 PM EST. We often preach that not all college hoops records are created equal and this Atlantic 10 showdown is a prime example. First up are the Bonnies of St. Bonaventure, who are 17-8 overall and 9-3 in A10 play. On the surface, it appears the Bonnies are having a great year, but a closer shows that Mark Schmidt's team has been gorging on cupcakes with some weak non-conference scheduling that ranks 216-of-353 graded schools in the nation. Five straight conference victories has the Bonnies trending upward as well, but they went to overtime with lowly Fordham, while beating George Mason, George Washington and Saints Joe's. Those aforementioned four teams are a combined 8-36 in A10 play this season. You can have their 83-80 win over Duquesne if you like, but the rest aren't worth a hoot.

On the other side of this equation is Davidson. The Wildcats are 12-11, but they have come by those 12 victories down a much tougher path than the Bonnies. Davidson played a non-conference scheduled that ranks 62 in the nation and they have squared off against major conference schools like Auburn, Wake Forest and Marquette. Davidson whacked Fordham last time out by 30, but as we mentioned already, the Rams are putrid and so that victory does not carry any weight into tonight. Finally, the Wildcats (ranked 86th) are actually ranked higher than the Bonnies (98) on KenPom's Adjusted Efficiency Ranking, which is a valuable tool used to rank these programs. We’re not sure if the Bonnies deserve to the chalk here but we are sure that the value lies in the underdog in a game they can win and should win outright.
