Ohio State +101 over WISCONSIN

1:00 PM EST. After playing the 132nd ranked Strength of Schedule in the country, the Badgers are a weak 13-10. The Badgers are always difficult to beat in the Kohl Center and that’s why they’re priced as the small chalk here but talent wise, this is not a fair fight at all. Wisconsin can be frustrating to bet against when they’re at home, as they’re 10-1 home record will attest to but they’re 3-6 on the road and 0-3 on a neutral court, which equates to 3-9 when they do not play at the Kohl Center. It’s pretty remarkable that a team can be so Jekyll and Hyde when comparing home and away records. The Badgers are not good enough to be 10-1 at home so they’re in line for some regression to be sure. Perhaps even more remarkable than Wisconsin’s home/away discrepancy is that the Buckeyes have a worse conference record than the Badgers. OSU is 5-6 in the conference while Wisky is a half game better at 6-6. Ohio State started the season as one of the most dominant teams in college basketball and a great bet. At one point the Buckeyes were 10-2 against the spread, then during a seven-game stretch in which they were favored six times, they won just one game and were an ATS loser each time. Now they’ve won three straight and covered all three times.

What sticks out to us most is that Wisconsin is a tiny favorite despite how difficult it is to win on the road in the Big-10. Remember, we’re not talking about some dominating team that is running over opponents that the Badgers are a small favorite against, instead, we’re discussing a team that is under .500 in conference play. Why on earth would the oddsmakers post such a small line on a team that rarely loses at home against one that rarely wins on the road? This line screams OSU is the right play. We already know that they’re the vastly superior team that hit a fork in the road for a period of time but appears to be back on track.
