UCONN -5½ over Tulsa

12:00 PM EST.  Timing plays a big part of our handicapping process and this now becomes the perfect time to fade the Golden Hurricane. Not only has Tulsa reeled off four in a row but they crushed the point-spread in all four, capped by Wednesday’s resonating 40-point win over then #20 Memphis. That’s worth repeating, as the market is putting way too much emphasis on it. Again, Tulsa just beat a ranked team by 40 points and are on a “covering the point-spread tear”. As it turns out, Memphis lost to SMU yesterday and aren’t looking so good anymore. Furthermore, Tulsa’s stock is through the roof but it has played the 297th ranked Strength of Schedule in America. With a 13-6 overall record, Tulsa has lost to UT Arlington by 14, Arkansas State and Arkansas, not to mention a 30-point loss to Cincinnati very recently. It’s a great time to sell the Golden Hurricane. 

UConn is inching closer to breaking through for Dan Hurley. The Huskies took Wichita State to double overtime and then hung tough at Villanova before losing by six. The Huskies last three games were all against ranked teams and while they went 0-3, they could have easily gone 3-0 too. Again, they lost to Wichita in double OT before losing to Villanova by six and Houston by four. Earlier in the year, the Huskies lost by one lousy point, again in double OT, this time to another ranked team, #18 Xavier. They also lost to Indiana by three. This is one of the best set of losses in the country that may help punch UConn’s ticket into the dance in March should they go on a run. With just one win in its last six games, the Huskies just might be the most undervalued team in America right now, thus, this is the perfect time to buy low.
