9:00 PM EST. There is so much meat on this bone that we cannot help but chow down. Firstly, teams like the Hurricanes do not get spotted this pile of points, not even in Durham against the Blue Devils. This is only the second time the 'Canes have been a double-digit dog this season, with the first coming as +13½-point choice at Louisville back on January 7th. Even that number stood out at the time, but the Cardinals would cover that number with a 16-point victory. This situation plays out eerily similar to that one, as the Cardinals were coming off back to back losses. The market is often hesitant to lay heavy lumber with a team that is losing and we suspect that will also be the case tonight.

The Blue Devils have lost two straight to Louisville and Clemson by similar scores (79-73, 79-72), so one has to wonder why they are being asked to spot such a significant price tonight. The Hurricanes are a popular public program and are regarded much higher than the likes of Wofford, Boston College or Wake Forest, which are three teams that the Dukies have been spotting points to in this range this season. While it's not often we lay a price like this, the situation dictates that Duke figures to be ripe to run somebody right off the floor. The Hurricanes are the perfect dance partner.
