Ivy League Tournament - John J. Lee Amphitheater - New Haven, CT

3:00 PM EST. On the surface, this is going to look like a significant number to take back with a storied Ivy League program like Princeton, but the Tigers have been circling the drain for much of the season despite their third place finish in the conference. Princeton lost sophomore guard Ryan Schwieger to injury, who was the Ivy League Player of the Week in late February and senior guard Devin Cannady has taken a personal leave from the team after a tumultuous year that included a suspension for throwing a punch at a campus police officer in January. On the court, the Tigers fortune hasn't fared much better, as they finished the season with three straight losses including getting blown out at home by these Bulldogs 81-59 in the regular season finale.

Yale was a 3½-point road favorite that day, which is why this number might look out of whack, but this game will be played in the friendly confines of the John J. Lee Amphitheater in New Haven. When the Tigers and Bulldogs played at that venue in early February, Yale was just a seven-point favorite, but the Tigers featured a full lineup. The Bulldogs still thumped them 74-60. This has been billed as a "revenge" spot for Princeton, but that's a tired old angle used by scummy pick sellers to drum up business. You've also no doubt heard that it's difficult to beat a rival three times in a season, and it can be, but sometimes one team is just superior. The Bulldogs are battle-tested after playing Power Five programs like Miami and Duke and they actually beat the Hurricanes at the start of December. Yale also took Memphis to overtime on the road in November, which is no easy task. They say, "styles make fights," and the same could be said about these college programs. The Bulldogs have the bite to back up their bark and can name their number today. We doubt Yale will have much pity for this ill-equipped invader.
