The Bulldogs were the biggest favorite on the board yesterday by far and although they covered that 24½-points, the final 100-74 makes it look like they just scraped by, but that score actually flatters the Waves, as Pepperdine was down 21 at the half and by 41 with about six minutes to go. The Zags took their foot off the gas after that and now it’s go time. The Bulldogs love to beat up on Saint Mary's and they dummied them twice this season. Gonzaga crushed the Gaels 94-46 in Spokane in early February and it took the rematch 69-55 in L.A. on March 2, easily covering both contests.

St. Mary's is barely on the bubble to be sure, but do not be fooled, this team stinks. We faded the Gaels last night against San Diego and ripping up that ticket was a bitter pill to swallow, as St. Mary's led by one point with 30 seconds to go. That the Gaels covered that game was truly sickening. You may read today that St. Mary's was able to handle its business down the stretch with eight wins in their final 10 games, but there isn't a decent win among them or any of the others. The WCC is a one team conference once again and the Zags can name their number tonight. Swallow the points.
