Before we begin, we do want to mention that we’re very aware of the “zig-zag” angle and mention that because we played against NIU yesterday and will be zig-zagging today by backing them. What also sticks out is that Drake opened up the MVC Tournament yesterday with a resounding 16-point win over Illinois State while Northern Iowa barely hung on to beat Southern Illinois. The point is that books are begging you to bet the higher seed taking back points. Don’t do it. As one of the longstanding pillars of the Missouri Valley Conference, Northern Iowa’s return to prominence is on and now we’re beneficiaries of “reading between the lines” to make a great wager that will very likely cash in.
