9:00 PM EST. The Trojans and Bruins are battling for fourth place in the Pac 12, which comes with a valuable bye in the first round of the conference tournament. Both teams have two games remaining including tonight and will coincidentally finish their seasons on the road against Utah. UCLA appears to be trending in the right direction with two straight wins over Oregon and Oregon State respectively, but a closer look at their last 10 games shows the Bruins are a streaky side. Back-to-back wins over Arizona and Washington State to end January were followed by three straight defeats to Washington, Colorado and Utah. That makes UCLA a tough team to back as its price inflates. With this being the feature game on ESPN at 9 PM EST, the Bruins are likely to get a ton of attention from the market, but they are not the better team here.

USC ranks eight spots higher than UCLA on KenPoms list of graded schools, but the Trojans are coming off a loss to a "like" opponent in the Beavers, as that was the team the Bruins won and covered against in their last game. The market often overvalues recent results and a familiar foe allows for some funky math. For example, if UCLA beat Oregon State and USC lost to the Beavers, then Bruins should have no trouble with the Trojans, but that is flawed thinking. The Bruins shot 63.6% from beyond the arc against the Beavers, which is unlikely to be sustained here, as that was UCLA's best three-point shooting game in nearly six years. Both of these teams were similarly priced against the Ducks and Beavers last weekend, which suggests oddsmakers put them on the same level. That makes taking back these inflated points a no brainer.
