However, they do have much more market credibility than Charlotte because the public has seen them play on that big stage. New 49ers coach, Ron Sanchez, has this team playing much better defensively, as he has used his past experience at both Virginia and Washington State to institute that pack line defense. The wide gap in market perception does not reflect how close these teams are at the bottom of the Conference USA standings, as the Blue Raiders have just two more conference wins than the 49ers, but they are priced like they are still a contender. If this game is close, the difference could be at the line, as the 49ers are a much better free throw shooting team than Middle-Tennessee.
