9:00 PM EST. Expected by many to be the class of the Pac-12 this season, the Ducks are five games back of first place Washington with six games to play, which means a regular season championship and a sure NCAA Tournament bid are out of reach for Dana Altman and his team. At 15-10 and 6-6 in conference play, Oregon's path to the postseason is going to come off the back of a strong finish and a great showing in the Pac 12 tournament but that’s a discussion for another time. A look at Oregon’s body of work reveals a very decent team without the wins to show for it. Oregon lost to Iowa by eight and then whacked Syracuse by 15. The Ducks non-con schedule would see them play Houston, Baylor and San Diego among others and our old friend, KenPom, has the Ducks ranked 36 positions higher than USC. Ken Pomeroy has the Ducks as the 60th best team in the country and he has the Trojans at #96.

The Trojans smashed Cal 89-66 on Saturday, which when combined with the whooping the Ducks took, it leaves us with both teams coming off of lopsided decisions. Recent results are often overvalued in the market and because of that, the Trojans are favored in a game they absolutely shouldn't be. While that was a big win on paper, Cal is by far the worst team in the conference, as it has not won a Pac 12 game all season. Before that victory, the Trojans had lost three straight, including back-to-back home games to Colorado and Utah. Now, USC gets Oregon in a tough scheduling spot, as the second place Beavers are coming to the Galen Center next and a road date at rival UCLA is on deck after that. Incidentally, these two played in Oregon five weeks ago and the Ducks wiped the floor with the Trojans in a 81-60 victory. Rest assured that we’re getting the superior team here at a price.
