1:00 PM EST. The question is whether or not Ole Miss is legit. Led by first-year coach Kermit Davis, the Rebels were picked by the league’s media to finish dead last in the SEC’s preseason poll. Yet here the Rebels are at 13-3 overall and off to a 3-1 league start, which included a home upset of #11 Auburn. Not to be outdone, the Rebels would subsequently beat #14 Mississippi St. the very next game before losing to LSU. That loss to LSU has not hurt the Rebels stock, thus making us sellers. The problem Ole Miss faces now is the wins over Auburn and Mississippi St served notice to the rest of the SEC to not take them lightly.

Ole Miss has a great record but its three losses have occurred against Butler, Cincinnati and LSU. What those three programs have in coming with Arkansas is that they are quality opponents and now this one is taking seven points. If this game was scheduled six weeks ago, it would’ve been a pick-em.

The Razorbacks are now just 10-6 overall and in 9th place in the SEC with a 1-3 record. Furthermore, Arkansas is coming off three straight conference losses in a row to Florida, LSU and Tennessee respectively. However, the loss to the Gators was by just six while the loss to LSU came in OT. The Hogs did lose 106-87 to Tennessee but the Vols are the greatest show not on turf these days and are ranked #3 in the land. The Razorbacks play close games. They have a 2-point win over Texas, a one-point win over Indiana, a one-point loss to WKU, a four-point loss to Georgia Tech and another two-point win over Texas A&M. The Rebel’s lack of size up front is also going to be a problem against Razorbacks forward Daniel Gafford. The 6-11 sophomore forward ranks in the top five of the SEC in points (17.0), rebounds (9.5), blocks (2.38) and field goal percentage (64.4) and now this very battle tested intruder is taking back inflated points against a team whose stock is just a little too high right now.
