9:00 PM EST. The Tar Heels are coming off the worst home loss in the Roy Williams era after an 83-62 downing by Louisville on Saturday. That high profile defeat is going to look really bad to a market that can often overvalue recent results, but the Tar Heels posted season lows in points, field goal percentage (34.5) and posted just a 13.6% conversion rate (3 of 22) on their three-pointers. It doesn't matter who Carolina played on Saturday because when you shoot like that, you have very little chance for a positive result. The Tar Heels also committed an uncharacteristic 14 turnovers in that loss to Louisville. This edition of the Tar Heels is 12-4, but their losses have come to some quality programs (Louisville, Kentucky, Michigan and Texas), which is reflected in their strength of schedule. Carolina has played one of the 10 toughest skeds in the nation according to KenPom. That is a sharp contrast to UNC's competition tonight, as the Irish have been feasting at the cupcake buffet.

Notre Dame is 11-5, but you can throw its record out the window because the bulk of that superficial success was built on the back of the 317th toughest non-conference schedule in America. Just take a look at the Irish's resume and you won't find a win over a ranked team in the bunch. When Notre Dame did play ranked sides, it got blasted 81-66 by #9 Virginia Tech and dropped an 85-80 decision to #20 Oklahoma. The Irish also lost games to Syracuse and UCLA (before the coaching change) and we would argue that their only quality win was an 88-80 decision over Purdue. Look, we see what everyone else sees in that when you put it all together, it doesn’t look bad for the Irish. Put it all together and it doesn’t look great for UNC, which sets this one up beautifully for the Tar Heels to lay the wood to this soft invader.
