2:00 PM EST. The Longhorns are 10-5 overall and 2-1 in the Big 12 after a 62-59 loss at Oklahoma State on Tuesday night. There is no shame in that loss and the Longhorns were behind the eight ball early after missing their first 13 shots from behind the arc and finished 2-of-22 on the night. That the ‘Horns only lost by three and had about the worst shooting night possible pretty much sums up their entire season. When at their best, the Longhorns are tremendous and have beaten the likes of North Carolina, Purdue and Arkansas. That touch scheduling should suit Texas well, as it will play its next four games and six of the next seven against ranked competition.

The Red Raiders of Texas Tech are 14-1 and ranked #8 in the nation, but before you get too excited about that, have a look at their pathetic non-conference schedule that ranks 340th according to KenPom. While the Red Raiders are 3-0 to start Big 12 play, they did not cover in games against West Virginia and Kansas State and pushed as seven point chalk against the Sooners on Tuesday night. That win in Norman looks excellent on paper, but Tech was down late in the second half and needed at 15-8 run over the final eight minutes to seal the deal. The Red Raiders are going to have some market appeal here, as they are a ranked team taking back a price against unranked competition, but do not be fooled by that aesthetic. This has been a bad spot for Tech, as it has not won in Austin in almost 23 years. Unlike the Red Raiders, Texas has played a difficult schedule worthy of a top team (24th) and we now get them a true bargain.
