12:00 PM EST. One could choose to take Creighton plus some points (+5) and that has great value too but we’re going to go for the kill here because the Bluejays are in a very winnable game here. Creighton is 10-4 in the Big East but its strength of schedule ranks 11th in the country. This is a team that lost to #1 Gonzaga but had the Zags down by double digits at one point in the second half. The Bluejays also lost to Ohio State, a great Nebraska squad and a very difficult Sooners’ outfit. Why the Bluejays are so far under the radar is puzzling (they’re not a traditional power perhaps) but that’s fine by us, as we get a sweet take-back on them.

Meanwhile, the Bulldogs beat Florida in the Bahamas during Thanksgiving week but besides that, there’s not a lot to suggest they are headed for strong year. Butler’s half-court offense is just average, partly because leading scorer Kamar Baldwin, a 6-1 junior guard, is only shooting 28 percent from 3-point range, down from 33 percent a year ago. The Bulldogs don’t get to the foul line enough (289th nationally in free throw rate), don’t clean up their misses (204th in offensive rebound percentage) and don’t generate much offense off their defense (257th in steal percentage). In other words, this is not a stock you want to own heading into conference play and thus, the Butler fade is on.
