Portland +150 ML over Phoenix

10:00 PM ET. Normally, Portland’s resurgence would be the story here, but instead, all eyes are on Phoenix after their 25-point thrashing of Golden State last night. The Suns were dominant, leading by as many as 29 in a national TV showcase. Now, the public is doubling down on them, despite facing a letdown spot with no rest and a road-heavy schedule.

Phoenix has also had Portland’s number, winning six of the last seven meetings. But despite that, they’re only a three-point favorite here after being double-digit chalk in both previous matchups? That’s suspicious.

To put it bluntly, Rip City isn’t messing around. Portland has won six of seven, five by double digits, and even their lone loss to OKC was competitive throughout. They’ve already taken down Milwaukee in this stretch, proving they can punch up. Meanwhile, Phoenix has been a shaky road team (10-13), with losses to Sacramento, Charlotte, and New Orleans. Their success hinges on the three-ball (37.9%, 6th in the NBA), but Portland is one of the league’s best at limiting attempts. The Suns shot nearly 50% from deep last night, an effort unlikely to be duplicated on tired legs. Factor in a looming trip to Oklahoma City, and this feels like the worst possible spot for Phoenix. We’ll gladly take the plus money on the home dog.
