9:30 PM EST. What went up (141 points for the Jazz in their Game 2 win) could be destined to come down far enough for a 1-2 series deficit after tonight. After losing their third regular season game to Utah by only 3 points, Memphis head coach Taylor Jenkins said that he loved the execution, had something to build on, then they went out and stole Game 1 of this series on the road. In the Game 2 defeat, the Grizz nevertheless put 129 points on the board on the road against an opponent that had given up an average of only 107.5 per game in the regular season (105.1 ppg at home). Utah attempted 43 three-pointers per game in the regular season, out of an average of 88.1 field goal attempts per game. That can be what they call “fool’s gold.” The Grizzlies were tied with Milwaukee for most field goal attempts per game (91.8). Their penchant for attacking the paint fouled out Rudy Gobert in Game 1 and if you do something once on the road, you have a chance to do it again at home.

The Grizz just don’t get enough credit and the best thing about betting these NBA showdowns is that the market often reacts to what it just witnessed. We’re calling the outright win here and are very tempted to play it that way but man, those five points are a nice safety net in case it comes down to a final shot or two.
