GOLDEN STATE -4½ -110 over Memphis

9:00 PM EST. Put aside everything else for just a hot minute and allow us to start with the absurd suggestion that we have to trust that the Warriors will get the majority of favorable calls. Why? Well, the game is in the Bay Area and secondly, the powers that be probably want Steph Curry in the playoffs, as he is still must-watch TV.

With the Lakers’ Dennis Schroder playing like a sixth man for the Warriors, Golden State nevertheless fell three points shy of getting into the playoffs on Wednesday night. Their second and final chance comes tonight against an opponent they won two of three against in the regular season, including a 113-101 victory in this building six days ago. The scores of the other two, played on consecutive nights in Memphis on March 19-20, ended up 116-103 for Golden State, and then 111-103 for Memphis. Note that the Grizzlies, who averaged 113.3 ppg this season, didn’t hit their average in three tries vs. the Warriors with 101, 103, 111 respectively. Also note that Steph Curry didn’t play in either of the two games that were split in Memphis.

Who wants to use Memphis and watch Ja Morant dribble around the floor with no apparent plan, then miss free throws, and his teammates make like the Western Conference’s Charlotte Hornets and toss bricks in a big game? Anyone? The Warriors’ transition to being a pretty good defensive team continues to fly under the radar.
