Boston -9 -110 over Brooklyn

9:00 PM EST. Targeting overreactions is a huge part of our betting philosophy. Yesterday, the Brooklyn Nets pulled off an outright upset of the Eastern Conference’s juggernaut, the Milwaukee Bucks. Closing as an 18½-point underdog, the Nets went on to win 119-116 much to the chagrin of all those that swallowed the points with Cream City. As a result of this upset, the Nets have some market appeal today when they had none yesterday. The fact that Brooklyn has won four of its last six against Boston (three outright as an underdog) makes the Nets market appeal even greater.

On the flip-side, Boston will come into this game with something to prove, as their body of work since play has resumed has not been too impressive. The C’s narrowly squeaked by a Portland team that remains on the outside looking-in to the Western Conference playoff picture and they were upset yesterday by the Miami Heat 112-106, a team Boston was expected to defeat by five points. Situationally, this is the perfect spot for the Celtics to rebound. After all, Brooklyn has had their number as of late and nothing can change the tide in this series more than handing a decisive loss to the team that staged the biggest upset since NBA play restarted. Fortunately for us, we can move in on Boston at an actual reduced price despite the points looking so savory with the First Borough. There is such a thing as a “Sucker Bet” and the Nets in this spot have all the makings to be just that. Don’t bite, swallow the points.
