New Orleans +5 +101 over L.A. Clippers

6:00 PM EST. Situationally, both of the contestants in this game come into this affair on the contrapositive (for all the math fans out there) of a zig-zag. On Thursday, both of these teams were involved in high-profile contests to kick off the resumption of NBA play. The Pelicans were a heavy public choice (-2.5) while the Clippers were on the flip-side of such a scenario, working with inflated points against the Lakers. New Orleans would go on to lose outright to the Jazz in a narrow 106-104 defeat (a game where the ‘Cans led by as much as 16) and the Lakers would narrowly edge the Clippers 103-101 but fail to take its backers to the window. It is worth mentioning that the game was decided on a missed three-pointer by Paul George as the buzzer sounded, which made the Clippers look exceptionally strong. As a result of the aforementioned, the public was doused in both affairs and now we’re the beneficiaries of an influenced market.

The Clips threw the kitchen sink at the Lakers in their opening matchup. They played hard and sweated harder. Two days removed from that emotional return to work and very game effort, the Clip Joint are not only overpriced, they are in a strong position to let down. You see, the Clippers/Lakers is a huge rivalry game. The Lakers are the Clippers daddy. The Clippers are going to the postseason with very little left to be determined while the Pelicans figure to be much more motivated in their attempt to make the playoffs.

Finally, the Clippers came within a shot of beating the Lakers and on paper and even on the floor, it looked prettier than it was. The Clippers turned the ball over 20 times and they are still without Lou Williams and now Montrezl Harrell. The dynamics are different everywhere right now. The Clippers didn’t need anything to get motivated against the Lakers. They could easily be unmotivated here while the same cannot be said about the ‘Cans. Great situational spot with inflated points.
